by any chance do you know the pitch

It may be obvious but always test the removed bolt in a die before starting to run a tap into such an important part. And also, test on the die only after a thread gauge pretty much tells you which one to test ;)

yes for sure I've made that mistake before...but these aluminum anything once marred are pretty much toast and would have to retap with a bigger bolt...

I taped a Torx bit into a 1/4" box wrench LOL - slooooowwww work

ratcheting would have been super awesome

It worked I suppose - 30k miles since, and no leaks

I do not regret going metal
