This is a pretty open ended question - do you have any cars you'd like to compare it to? That can help make it a little easier.

Overall, we love our LR3 - great looks, great utility, great engine/transmission, great nav, great offroad ability with good onroad ride, great headlights (with Xenon at least), fantastic safety, etc.

Things some people have had issues with: tires wearing quickly, rear rattle, poor gas mileage (although I think it is very reasonable for a 300HP V8 in a 5500lb car - we get around 16mpg on average) and general reliability concerns. My take: in my experience, any European car is going to be less reliable than its Japanese counterpart (except maybe Porsche), but there is still something special about them.

well i havent looked at any other car in its price range to compare to, but i was sort of looking at sedans(knowing that its two different types). i was wondering lasting wise & my friend owns a dealer and he told me that range rovers are always in the shop for fixing; the lr3 isnt like that right? thanks for replying

Well, like I said, European cars in general seem to be less reliable. Doesn't matter if it is a LR, RR, VW, BMW, Audi, Mercedes, etc. Having said that, they are typically bullet proof in the drivetrain - it is more the electrical issues (part of having such advanced cars). And often times they are handled through recalls/technical service bulletins.

The other thing that I've noticed, and I believe this is true of any car, is that 1st model year versions tend to have more issues as they work out the bugs. Once they figure those out they are typically fairly reliable.

Good luck!

I just turned in an '05 LR3 lease and will be buying an '05 very shortly. I had only a couple small problems with. As nearly everyone will tell you..the tires absolutely suck. There was a gas tank recall and a coolant level float recall, but that was it. Great Truck, especially for a first year vehicle.
p.s. I found a SE 27k miles, nav, cc, and xenons for just $25000. I think there are a lot of 2 year leases at auction now, which brings the price down quite a bit. If it checks out (no accidents and good service record), I'll be picking it up this weekend. It's funny but my '99 Range seems like a jalopy after driving the LR3 for a couple years....
