Hi, I have a 2002 Dicovery II. My sunroof leaks from time to time and now it has dripped onto my radio. Now the panel controlls and the stearing wheel controlls for the radio do not work. I have a CD that is playing and I can not change the volume, switch songs or even turn the thing off all together. Any one ever had this issue? Does it just need to dry out or is it done for?

Wow.... I hope you like whatever is playing!

You may want to pull it out and break it down as far as you can to let it dry out. Running power thru soming that is wet can destroy it. It causes curcuits to cross

It does sound like the water is the cause though. Letting get fully dried out might be all you need to do

If the sun roofs are leaking clear silicone will fix it... seal them shut.

Thanks guys. I think the leaky roof is because the drain tubes are blocked. My head liner where the roof meets the top of the windsheild gets all wet, but it doesn't happen all the time.

Yea, I have the same thing happening with my 97' Disco I SE right now. Its easily fixable by just resealing the molding down, but Ive just be too lazy to get around to it. I guess if it did that to your radio, I might wanna get on that.

Is it possible to take the radio out with out the special tools? I do not want to keep the power runing to it, but I am not sure how to turn it off.

Remove the fuse will stop it from running.... I am sure you can use 4 small dowel rods to remove, or swing my your local BMW dealer and get a tool from them... cheaper than buying from Land Rover.
