Fog-lights not working / Blown Fuse on Fog-lights.

When the 15 amp fuse has blown on the fog-lights, the most likely cause is that the feed wire has chafed on the front chassis member which is immediately below the lights.

30 minutes should be ample time to do the job.

Tools required.
Torque- T15 screwdriver.
Magnetic pickup tool.
Insulating tape.
Long cable tie.
New 15 amp fuse.

To remove the fog-light first remove the surround. This can be done by putting light pressure on the surround with a flat piece of plastic or if your nails are strong enough that should do.

The retaining clips can sometimes slip off and lodge in-behind the bumper but can easily be retrieved with a magnetic pickup tool.

Using the T15 screwdriver remove the holding three screws.

With the lamp out of the housing, the chafing on the wire can be seen.

This is where it was rubbing on the chassis rail.

Wrap the exposed wire in insulation tape. And replace the light using a cable-tie to hold the wire away from the chassis member.

Refit the lamp and surround, replace the 15 amp fuse. And check the lights.

Job done!
