rangie tacho problems

Hi everyone i just purchased my 1st rangie it has had the 2.8turbo isuzu conversion and is is a 1987 classic the only problem is that the tacho dose not work (it has worked since the conversion as the milage has changed throught the mot's) i have removed the unit from the dash but the tach wires are a pcb where do the other end go to ? is there a common fault with these?

are you talking the Tach or the odometer?

The tach is via the alternator, the odometer is via the VSS.

the tach as in the rev counter the speedo is also broken but it seams it is just the end of the cable is rounded off so i have ordered a new one.but with the revcounter i didn't know where to start

Rev Counter (Tach) you should find a single wire attached to the back of the alternator, this is normally where it gets broken. If I Recall Correctly it is a small gauge white wire.
