Anybody have thoughts on replacing the stock rear bumper? It seams it gets pretty scratched up fairly easy - starting to look raggedy back there . . .

...yours is, David? Does this mean that you've ventured off-road with your LR3?

Ouch - this is one hard room! :hmpf:
Well I DID shotgun at Calico this last weekend in a jeep - gatekeeper looks like fun!

Actually I found some fairly steep (I guess YOU guys would call them 'little bumps') dirt hills and the angle going up them was such that I have all these little plastic shreds hanging off the scratches on the rear bumper

so in MY world, yes I finally ventured off-road!

will try to get some pics next weekend

Anybody wanna lead a newbe on cleghorn?

David, did you hook up with SCLR? They are going on the 20th. Great trail to cut
your teeth on. I am planning on going then. BTY I would'nt replace your rear bumber
unless you tear it off. Those "plastic shreds" hanging off the back distinguish you
from the grocery getters. Leave them be.

Alas, I am out of town that weekend - I was looking forward to it but the wife and I got a KILLER deal for 3 days in Vegas - the following trip is at Anza Barego and protection is suggested
 don't got none yet . . .

hehehe true . . . I was just thinking of getting something a little more solid

OK, well start there with the mods. Bumpers and such perform a lesser function than
a good set of tires and some sliders.

Funny you should mention it. I just cut mine up. Hopefully with in the next two weeks I'll have a finished custom rear bumper with integrated swing away tire carrier. Going the stout method so I should be able to land on it with no damage. Will also include wrap around protection for the rear quater panels. I did look to see what they go for and I found a used plastic bumper on flea bay for 50USD so I would imagine you could change it cheap if you want (It is simple to remove, the worst part is the 4 push clips they hid below/behind the tailgate)
