How much rust should I tolerate on my rear control arms? These are some pretty thick steel members with big welds. BUT, there are a few spots where the welds were thinner, have rusted, and I can see through them. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't look I'm riding on chunks of swiss cheese, but the sh*t is rusted.

The quote to replace upper and lower was, I think, $1K. I'm at 210K miles and do a bit of beach driving. I rinse the underside after, but I'm sure that's why I see more rust than most.

Upper and Lower on both sides for $1k? Including alignment after? That's a good deal! After that, you should use some kind of spray-on anti-corrosion product. I use BOESHIELD.

Not including alignment. That is a good point. My shop doesn't align which means I'd have to take a trip to the tire shop for that...and I hate going to the tire shop. (awful service at every one I have been to)
