Several people have posted about having issues with this...with the rod coming out of the cylinder and the nut coming loose. I know that there is a TSB regarding this...has anyone been able to address the situation before losing the nut inside the cylinder without going to the dealer? Is there a way to tighten those babies down or check to see that they are tight?

Thanks. I am no longer under (original) warranty!

after hearing about the bulletin, i checked mine and sure enough they were loose. I was able to get a wrench on mine and tighten them up. It's been quite a while so I do not remember the size wrench, but I had no problems and it was a quick fix. Good luck

So....did you just check the nuts on the outside of the cylinders with your fingers? After that, is it just an intuitive "turn the wrench" operation? THANKS!

Guys...which bolt is this? Is it the one that goes from the dashpot assembly to the body of the LR3? ...not on the hatch side but into the rear of the vehicle...???

I did find a loose fastener but I wanted to make sure that it's the right one. First of all, it was a lot larger than I thought it would be, and second...it wasn't all that loose. I mean, there were threads showing and I could turn it with pliers (a wrench wouldn't fit) but it wasn't "hand-tight" or anything.

Was I looking at the right bolt?

I had the body side ones checked as per the TSB, and after 9 mths or so noted that the hatch side was loose. I pulled both sides, loctite and should be a done deal. This was like 9 mths back again. Still going strong. (note-do one side @ a time or wear a helmet. )
To be honest though, this is like the only rattly interior thing I have had with the car, which isn't so bad for how I treat it.
