Rear left lighting problem.

I have a 98 disco V8i and my left rear light went out a week ago. I have had issues with a short and over temping in the light circuit and the RL light fixture has a melted connection and insert. short story...replaced the light assy and the brake light, reverse light, flasher all work now but still no rear tail light. Fuses are good and I have checked the wires to and from...all appear to be good. Checked for VDC at contact and nada which leads to question. Where is next point I can check for VDC. Light switch on wheel column? There is no diagram in rover manual and I need to fix asap. have a 14 mo old daughter and hate driving without. anyone have a wiring diagram. Appreciate any insight.

oh yeah good to be back......checked site out a month or two back and domain was dormant for a bit.

Download the RAVE it has the electrical diagram in it (not the best but it is there).

Left side near the inner rear fender is the wiring harness for the lights, check there, then proceed to the front from there, worse case run a new wire.
