Rear Parking Sensors

So I took my car to the dealer today for a couple warrantee issues... one was the parking sensors.... when I picked up the truck they told me that my rear parking sensors are working fine. Basically you get in the car and put it in reverse and you can hear the distance control sound.... then you back up towards an object or another vehicle and the warning sound randomly comes on when your about 20 inches away. It beeps at a very rapid speed and then randomly stops. Other vehicles that I have with the Parking sensors start out slowly around 3 feet away and then slowly get faster as you get close... Is this normal on the LR3? Kinda useless if it is. I have a feeling the sensors are screwed up.

Mine work the way you described your other vehicles as working. They do turn on much closer to the obstacle than my other vehicles however (3ft maybe?). They get more rapid in pacing as I get closer though.

Mine start working around 3ft. from an object too.
