I had 23K miles on my motor w/ a continuing problem of missing & lack of power when downshifting at approximately 70 MPH. The problem was suttle but definately there & was brought to the attention of the dealer many time w/ no resolution. Finally I went for a drive w/ the service manager who experienced the problem 1st hand.
While trying to resolve the issue, the dealer recommended that I use a fuel additive. I repeatedly tried this w/ no improvement.
Apparently, the problem was that the valves were not seated properly & They replacing the motor.
They indicated that their recommendation of using a fuel additive may have contributed to the problem since ethanol causes greater heat.
I have great power now w/ the problem solved.
The dealer was fantastic to work with.
My experience w/ my dealer is if you know what you are talking adout, they are more than accomodating to do their best to resolve issues. In addition, I think Land Rover in general is in a mode of trying to get the publics confidence back.
Has any one else had this situation??
