Replacing cargo door locking mechanism--

I'm going to replace the rear door locking mechanism and wanted to know if anyone has accomplished this. I've taken off the rear panel and broke most of the red clips (fun times) but I'm tired of not being able to unlock or open the rear door. Any advice or how much time I should allow would be greatly appreciated.

Its a 1999 Disco II.

Also on a side note, I want to replace the factory bulbs on the headlights to get that brightness. Any suggestions on what model or brand I should use?
