I am very embarreassed about this as I consider myself to be some what of a handyman / backyard mechanic .... however I am just too frustrated to continue without asking if anyone else has encountered this problem. I am going to drop the Oil Pan in my 2003 Disco with 58K Miles. I crawl under there and see that half the pan is cun accessable because of this hard plastic 'rock' plate protector. No big deal so i start to take out the bolts to remove it. When all the bolts are removed I shift 1 way an then the other and there is no way this thing is coming off. At least from what I am seeing. I've been under the vehicle for a hour messing around with this thing and am wondering if anyone can give me some advise or id anyone else has encountered this.
