Were you concerned that the vehicle would lower when you took the old one off - with you under it and all? Or can you just pop the old ones off and put the new ones on with no issues? Do you have to use a jack at all? I love the idea of doing this at the trail, but not driving all the time with them on. Thanks.

The car does not react at all when you take the rods off. I know that people take them on/off without jacking...but I don't. Part of the reason is that I also remove my wheels/tires and put on my other set (MT/Rs on 18s) so I might as well throw a jackstand under the LR3 and take my time. I don't know how feasible it is to do this at the trailhead....depends on the trail and the group you're with. Making the switch the first couple times takes longer, too....

You could do it at the trail head but I do it the night before I head out in my clean dry garage. I do use a jack just to make it easier. Do not put the vehicle in off road mode and climb under. The self leveling dose weird things. I almost got hurt under there one day checking stuff out. I had left a door open to prevent that, it did NOT work so well. The LR3 started to lower on me. Could have been hurt real bad Luckly I have the reflexes of a turtle :)
