RR Sport engine bay noise

Hi

I have just bought myself a shiny new Sport, well a 2 year old SnS..
I was hoping someone could answer a question I have relating to a noise emiting from the engine bay
Being a new car for me I have been showing some friends and after taking them for a spin, I lifted the hood to show the really lovely V8 lump, this was interupted by what sounds like a dull horn sound coming from the engine and I cant put my finger on exactly where
When the hood is down you can only really hear it if you walk right up and put your head by the grille

Again this is only when the engine is off and not running

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Just to let all the interested people know it is the EGR Valves venting ?
