I have a 99 Disco II with a frozen back door handle. I greased it once from the inside but then it got stiff and I was using a screwdriver to pri it open. The spring just didn't pull it back in. Any way now it won't budge. Is is possible to loosen it up again or do I have to replace it.

Are you talking the open handle from the outside is sticking? If so, this is very normal. Every 3 - 6 months (depending on climate) I would use some good lube (not WD-40), something like liquid wrench or break free. If you spray it down and work it when it is stuck, then spray it down every few months even when all is working well it should be fine.

I spray down the back door latch, all five door hinges, and the back step (if applicable) every few months. I use to spray down the hood release, but I use hood pins.
