Hi there, was wondering if anyone knows what do do about this. I can stow the jump seats against the side, and I can bring them back down again, but I cannot bring the seat backs to the upright position, no matter how much i force and strain on the lever. It has worked in the past, and once in awhile it will randomly work, but for the most part they are useless.

Is there an adjustment of some sort that anyone knows of? I have searched the workshop manual and haven't really found anything.

Any info would be appreciated. 2001 disco II.

There is a safety mechanisem on the seat. It has to be firmly placed in the receiver in the floor in order for the back to be raised. Check the channels to see if there is any obstructions in there.

Yes, that doesn't seem to be the issue, but I think you are on the right track. if you take off the cover to the opposite side of the seat lever, you can see the mechanism, and in my case it does not appear to move out of the way enough when the seat bottom latches into place. I have been able to move it with a screwdriver enough to compensate and now get the seat up, but I wonder if there is an adjustment, like a cable or something that can be tightened in order to make this work? Thanks again for your reply.

I sometimes have to "slam" the seat down to get them to open up ... most of the time I don't use the seats ... just show them off ...

The kids love em... can't imagine why, they don't look very comfortable.
