Has anyone had the side steps (not bars) installed? How do they look...and are they sturdy?

I have them. I think they add a lot to the look of the vehicle. They are fairly sturdy but move a little if I put my full weight on them. I'm happy with them.

The side steps on my Disco II kept the side of my LR from being damaged in an accident!!! The other driver had a seizure ... rear ended me twice and scraped along the drivers side. There was NO frame or sheetmetal damage. Only rear bumper and side mouldings and side step. All being replaced by the INS CO. They may save the side of your LR3!!!!

Indeed, they are good protection against door dings from average sized passenger cars.

Thanks everyone for all the info. I'm thinking of adding a few accessories, and just trying to decide which give the best bang for the buck. Currently considering...

Side Steps
Mud Flaps
Side Moldings

Side steps are great too if you have kids. Our three year-old refuses to let me put her in the truck since she can use the step (yes, I do buckle her in myself).

And the side steps look nice too.

Cheers.
