slow pick up on power for TDi 300 disco 1

I just had my injector pump overhauled but when it was refitted the acceleration on low revs is really slow. Once the revs are up to around 1500 its ok. Does it mean the pump was fitted incorrectly and what could I do to solve the problem.

Would really appreciate some help as here in Malawi, Africa, good mechanics are few and far between. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
