Just picked up my 06' HSE. Has about 67 miles on it. The brakes squeak quite loudly. Is there a break in period? Anyone else had the same issue?

Thankx!!

the brakes may squeak a little during a cold morning back out of your garage, as I have experienced once or twice. Its the brake dust being scraped off, normal.

Check the nightstand, next to your glasses... :)

No brake squeak initially, but now with close to 22 K miles, I have noticed squeak over the last 2 months. The brake pad thickness appears adequate, however.

The salesperson who I bought it from is coming out to my work to get it and is going to bring it back to be looked at. The Rover does not even have a hundred miles on it.

it is a p1ss off!!!

To tell you the truth I can't even get excited about the fact that 1, it's my first Land Rover and second that it's brand new.

I starting to resent it.

I just picked up my LR3 HSE on Saturday. I've got about 130 miles on it now. I love the ride and the features, but I understand how you feel...

To tell the truth, I've lurked on this forum for a few weeks before I purchased the vehicle. This forum helped to "manage my expectation" of the LR3. I knew that many owners suffer from issues, even right out of the dealership. I also know that others don't have any issues at all. So, it's a gamble. You just have to have faith that your dealership will solve the problem quickly and properly.

Good luck to you (and to all of us)

Cheers,
-Alan

I too had the squeaky brake problem. It's an 06, at around 1,000 miles the brakes began to squeak when coming to a stop. The dealer couldn't find a problem but could tell that it was the front brakes. He mentioned that higher quality brakes are apt to squeak more than the cheaper ones. Anyway, they had a new pair in the shop, they soaked them over night in some sort of brake solution. He didn't know if it would make a difference but it was worth a try. I went back the next day, had them replaced. Hasn't squeaked since. I think I've got about 3,700 miles on it now.
