Well, my saga continues. The vehicle is back with Land Rover Chantilly and we're back to square one on an ignition issue. I've read a few threads on this board, but I'm curious if anyone has had this specific issue and what the fix is.
Here's what's happenening, the ignition switch turns and there's a click. If I try to turn it again without going to the full off position, I get nothing. If I go back to the full off position, I'll most likely get another "click." Generally, I repeat this process 5-6 times and the car will turn over in a normal fashion. The clicks are getting repeatedly worse though (used to be once, now it's 5-6 times or more).
I checked the battery: it's at 90%. The battery is also showing 12.5 volts in an off position. That's fine.
This problem will not occur after long drives. I drove the vehicle to Chantilly last night and had no problem getting it to recrank. It happens with the car has been sitting for a while. This is why I checked the battery first.
Is there an "ignition motor" that could be bad or is this most likely an electrical and/or alternator issue?
