What a Saturday, just spent most of it trying to get my first inspection done, went to my local shop with the promise of 15 min and all finished, they could not connect to the onboard computer to do the tests and suggested I took it over to LR so off we went.... That was fine as I got some recalls done, Transmission, Nav and Air suspension upgrade to the compressor (didnt know there was a problem but there is) However, they managed to start the state test but alas had problems with the O2 levels the computer says fail but LR tech says all looks ok ... crap ! they want me to drive 100miles and try again as they think that the s/w upgrades done may of upset something ??? mmmm fishy to me. (now were is that cold beer !)

And the brake pads need changing ...ouch, just had to change all 4 tyres last month.... $$$$$ comes then goes fast !

Anyone else had any problens with the Inspection ?

Cheers

Adrian

Sorry, no idea what State you are in, or what sort of inspections are required. In california we have smog tests, but not for new vehicles like this.

Brake pads typically go around 20-25,0000 miles on these LR3's. Several dealers quoted me $800-$900 for replacing the pads on all four corners. Two independant shops quoted me $400 for the same job. Guess where I went?

Im over Houston, Texas and I think we have a smog test as well which is were it is having the problem, however LR said if it continues to fail they will fix it under warranty :)

There are just over 25k on the clock so the pads are probably due for a change, dont fancy 800k maybe look for an alternative as well

That would buy a nice sized garage to go along with those new brake pads :)

Good to know.

So I guess brakes and pads is a safe thing to get done at a non-LR dealer?

I never know service will be complicated by the LR computer or air suspension...
