Couple of questions. How difficult is it to change the p/s box on a 96 discovery. any special tools needed ? I also plan to change the pitman arm too. Second, I plan on upgrading the suspenion in the next couple of months, what suspenion kit would you guys recommend. So far I've looked into equipe4x4: extreme kit, JEF stage 2 and scorpion racing extreme kit.
What are the ups and downs of each kit. THX!!!!! G

Steering box, couple of hours if you can work on vehicles about a 5 out of 10 in my book.

Suspension depends alot on what you plan to do with the vehicle. If 90% on road, just go with something simple like a ARB spring lift.

If 90% off road, then the sky is the limit. Remember everything you do to the suspension will effect handling and road drivability.

Joey, thxs for the info. I do plan on off roading as much as possible. the D1 will be both my daily driver and off road rig. By chance, are you running any form of suspension upgrade or lift. Any advise would be great...

I have a 2" OME HD lift (springs only) and 245-75-16 tires currently (going to install 31-10.50-15's this summer)

It is my daily driver and off road vehicle and I have a blast... 90% on Road 10% off road... that is unless you cound the back roads in WV which would be considered off road in every other state.

Cool. If its just leaking, Lukas WILL cure it!! Mine was leaking crazy and it stopped after 1.5 bottles... so buy two! I kept topping off and topping off and topping off and it kept leaking and leaking and leaking and one day it stopped and hasn't leaked a drop on my garage floor in months!!

Remember, its not at instant fix... just keep topping it off and cross your fingers. Save the receipt and read the bottle... they will refund you money if it doesn't work!
