Stuck in Reverse (SIR)

My 1997 Defender (80K miles) is stuck in reverse. I backed out a parking space and it remains stuck in R. No problmes like this before. Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated Cant shift into park or drive.

Welcome to the forum.... sounds like the linkage may have either bent or disconnected.
