Last winter, I lost electrical power and had the 2002 RR tranported to the local dealer. They replaced the battery. In the end, it turned out to be the alternator. I live in cold climate and had no reason to open/close the sunroof. The first time I operated the sun roof, I got the message that the "Sun Roof Not Set." I followed the instructions to set the sun roof in the manual. No luck. I took it back to the dealer and they could not set it either. They said they would call RR technical group and see if there was a fix. I did not receive any followup phone call (not that I expected to) and I don't have much faith in the local dealer/repair facility. Since this appears to be an electrical problem and only a licensed RR mechanic can work on an electrical problem - does anyone here have any suggestions of what I might do on my own to troubleshoot this problem? The next nearest dealership/licensed mechanic is over 400 miles away. Additionally, the sun roof operates fine. It is just that I am unable to set the sun roof. Thank you.

WINDOWS NOT SET error - To set the windows, open and close each window one at a time, leaving your finger on the button
for an extra second or two. You may have to repeat twice for each window. The sunroof is similar; fully open it, then close
it, then tilt it, then close it. (Leaving your finger on the button an extra second or two after each action.)

Thank you. That is explained in the manual and was tried by myself, a friend and the dealership. It did not work. I am looking for other potential fixes.

Could be a bad sensor if the above did not work.
