Is it normal for the rear suspension on my wife's '99 Disco II to collpase on a really cold night, 0*F. It looks like a low rider in the morning, the front is fine, the back is all the way down. It does go back up when the car is started, although, she said it took a really long time today. Do we have some sort of leak, or is this normal?

Thanks!

This is the Joys of SLS, when you decide to change over to springs it will never do that again.

You probobly have an O ring or gasket leaking. So the cheapest way in the long run is like Joey said Convert to springs!

Self Levelling Suspension

Not very helpful guys, what if it isn't a leak? I have the same problem on my 2000 Series 2 Discovery TD5. Can anyone suggest tests to the air supply unit?? The manual doesn't give a lot away.......

Ok to help with this a little better. Remember that when the seal get a little age on them or dry out, they will leak a little air. On top of that if it is real cold out, they will get very hard and allow air to pass through the gaps. Basically this is the nature of the beast. My car has rear air shock, in the winter I lose air... in the summer, it doesn't happen. This is the joys of air/cold/and rubber.

If you ever notice your tires will lose more air in the winter than the summer as well.... always check tire pressure if it has been sitting awhile or if the temp varies alot.

I also have a discovery II 1999 and have the same problem. I am pretty sure the air bag on the driver side is busted on mine. Ask your wife to check if your truck is leanning ever so lightly to one side. My truck retains air on the passenger side and none on the driver side so if leans just a little.
