I just did this, you also be removing the air intake manifold directly above the thermostat and to remove that you’ll need to disconnect the EGR valve. There’s several torques you’ll need.

I noticed that it’s SUPER easy to over-torque the 4 bolts securing the air intake manifold. Don’t tighten it down with an impact drill haha.

I've taken my thermostat housing off several times to fill/burp the coolant. Only way I've found to successfully and quickly do it. Remove the thermostat, fill coolant into the manifold until full, install thermostat, start and top off reservoir. Never torqued the housing just snug the bolt/screws reasonably. Good to know the correct settings.
