It's time for new brakes on my 2000 DS2 and I was wondering if anyone has used ceramic pads and what there experience was.

Additionally the truck has 73,000 miles on it so I presume this is not the first set of pads and I'm wondering if I should consider replacing the rotors. They are not grooved, gouged, or warped but they are rather crusty rusty on the ventilation edge, thoughts ?

Lastly what should I expect to pay for these parts and is there a quality source with reasonable prices, I'm doing the work myself.

I have heard of people using ceramic pads, but they are slow to get warm, so during initial braking the will feel very poor. They are designed for high speed (racing) applications.

At 73k miles you are probably on your 2nd or 3rd set of brake pads. And at least your second set of rotors....

Should you change them... depends on if they are still in spec and how close they are... I would change them, but that is me... and since you are probably not sure when the last time it was done...

Prices for parts... I would check

Yes, changing the seal would be a good thing as well as new lock rings... make sure to repack the bearings while your in there....
