i drive a 97 discovery i am trying to take the tow bar off but having diffs with the 2 bolts that go up into the cross member they turn but won`t come out i can`t get up in to hold the nuts on them or do i have to take the back bumper off to get at them .

Welcome to the forum... Unless I am mistaken the 97 Discovery's Receiver is welded in place and can not be removed without a cutting torch.
