Fill on 93 and when it gets to half tank ... top up with 89 = ~ 90 which the LR recommends. Save a few bucks this way.:hello:

I've run 87 for 12 years and about 250k miles on 5 rovers and never had a problem.
(I did have valve problems on one, I guess that could have been gas, but heard they had tolerance problems with it so....)

I use nothing but high octane - 91, 92, 93 depending on what's available. Too many foul things can and likely will happen if you don't.

I even run an additive/cleaner about evey 3rd tank or so to keep everything as clean running as possible.

Wouldn't you?

I use a minimum of 91 Oct. LR's are know to be...well, ya know.....so I don't go looking for excuses for the LR to have a hissy fit.

Here the diff between premium and midrange is .10 per gal ..... I would save $2.00 or less per fill so I'll stick to the higher grade to be safe

I use 87 on my 97 disco I se7 and on my 94 Range Rover Classic and even in my 2004 BMW 525i. My 97 disco I have 190,000 or so miles with no issues with less octane. My 94 Classic 165,000 with no issues and Beamer 65,000 no issues. The only thing is that I've replaced fuel filter on disco and now fuel pump. I bought it in 1999 with only 40,000 miles on it and just now having to change it.... With my landrovers they go off road all the time I live at the beach go figure. As I figure it does no damage to mine But cleaning the throttle body occasionally.

I'm in NJ, and the 87 octane we have here might as well be a watered down drink. I ran on regular in 2006 for a while, but the truck sounded like a diesel, and fuel economy dropped way down. You pay less at the pump for regular, but you have to fill up twice as often. Buy the 89, 93 or 94 octane. :bandit:
