US vs EURO

I'm seriously considering buying my first LR. It is possible that I might eventually take it with me to Europe, hence I'd like to hear if someone knows the differences between US and EURO versions of LR3

I'm in particular interested in understanding whether the navi system is the same, would US navi work in Europe and what map system is it using. MB for example has two completely different makes and mapsystems for their navi, Volvo on the other hand has the same for both US and Europe.

Any other info is also more than appreciated.

With my BMW, all I have to do is switch out the data DVD. While DVD movies are regionally encoded, data disks are not so it is generally a matter of switching disks. I am in the process of purchasing an LR3 in Europe (US Specs) and will confirm this with the dealership. The LR3 I was test driving was US specs and had a European navigation.
If you are planning on living in Europe, you may want to look at purchasing in Europe. If you will be eligible for the discounts through diplomatic or military sales, you should look into it. Plus, the European models have much more flexibility in the options packages...and have folding mirrors!

But most significantly, they have a very nice TDi diesel engine that gets 35 mpg.

According to the Landrover reps at the Brussels Int'l Auto show, they will be introducing a diesel engine in the states soon...
