Mine works but I don't use it because it is a stupid gimmick.
Anything you can do with voice recognition can be done quicker by extending your arm.
The only thing I ever say to it is "radio help" so kids can hear the British guy go on about the radio controls. It is only good for impressing people and entertaining kids. Has no practical value.
Don't know about the radio control, since I don't have that feature. But I think the voice recognition for the phone is a major safety feature. In my line of work, I get, and place, a lot of calls on my cell while driving. I don't have to fumble for the phone in my pocket, or even look at it, let alone try to find a name in the directory or punch in the phone number.
Just "phone dial name" and I never have to take my eyes off the road for even a second. Seems pretty useful to me.
