voltage module,happy holidays

hello im a new one to these forums so im really sorry if i get it wrong.i have a 1986 rover and it has a 2-pin module on the side of the distibutor(and guess what it went out)bbut my step father has a distibutor off another 3.9 but it has a 3-pin module on it.So my big quistion is does anyone out there know where the wires on a 3-pin go?Im guessing two go to the coil like on the 2-pin module,but im not sure what the pins are on the 3-pin,or where the wires go.any help would be great.

please anyone got the wiring digram for the three pin module(anplifeir thats on the side of the distibutor).im at a loss all my book shows is the two pin module..opps it is a 1988 rover my car is the 86.(brain fart)
