Voyager side steps badly rusted

As soon as my young boys grow enough to not really need the side steps, they are coming off. They rust too easily and are too heavy. I'll just put the plastic sill covers back on.

I may switch to Tactical or whatever is the best choice later if I rust mine out. I love having the step to get up to the rack from the sides and to just make it easy to get in and out and not wear the seats down so much. and Im 6'2".
