I am wanting to put on some additions to my LR3. I am looking at the ARB brush guard. The question I am trying to find out is what kind of lift can I get and what tires do you recommend? I was curious what kind of lift I could put on and not interfere with the air suspension raising and lowering, I dont want to loose that function. This is my everyday vehicle so I'm not looking for a "rock crawler" lift, just a couple of inches. What tires are going to give me some what of an aggressive look and a lot of milage? I'm just not a fan of the street tires that came with it. Thanks, any tips will help.

Yes, the street tires are embarrassingly bad. Here is a link to a fairly comprehensive list of tires to choose from. If you search this forum, you will see hundreds of similar posts. For max mileage, probably should consider the Goodyear Silent Armors, for more aggressive tread, the Cooper Zeon's are popular. For maximum tread, the Goodyear MTR's

Don't go bigger than 31.5" or you will rub, unless you get the Rod-Mod, which lets you go slightly bigger, to 32" sized tires.

....what Nathan is saying implicitly is tha the Rod-Mod IS the lift you are looking for. As far as I know, it's the only lift available for the LR3. It's not a true lift, but it's an electro-mechanical manipulation of the EAS to tease out 2" of lift.

...and I wouldn't run it permanently. You can I guess, but that's up to you.

houm, intersested in learning more about your opinion of not running the sensor mod "full time". Guys on the LRRFORUM have been running them full time and not reported any wear on suspension system or CV's? Nathan I would be interested in your opinion too. I just installed the sensor-mod and love it.. the truck doesn't ride all that much different.

Well...my opinion is that the truck was not designed to run that way, so I personally don't want to do so except when I need to, such as offroad. I do not have any real evidence that it will hurt it, but I submit the following:

If LR's logic was that running the truck at Offroad height over 24 MPH poses a roll-over threat then it may be okay to run the mod and just account for that when you're on the highway (meaning slow down around corners). ...but if LR's logic had more to do with alignment and CV Joint concerns then I don't want to push the truck beyond what it was designed to do.

Sure, maybe nobody has reported any ill-effects as of now, but is that conclusive? What will the effect be in 5 years? Also...I feel like the truck performs better on the street in its stock form. I have jackstands and an impact wrench and can change my wheels, tires and rods in about 90 minutes (including set-up and put-away time). So, to me that's the best of both worlds...smooth on-road and unstoppable off-road and not asking the rig to do much more than it was designed to do originally.

Also, I need Access height to get into my parking garage....

I think the Cooper SST and the Cooper Zeon's look pretty good on an LR3, and I know Nitto TerraGrappler's last a long time. I drive mine pretty ******* my Range Rover and they have lasted a long time, and my bro has them on his Disco 2 which he uses to pull a trailer everyday and his tires are still mint.

SSTs will require the lift...the Zeons you can fit with the stock suspension; they'll give you an extra 0.75" of ground clearance and a much more aggressive look.

WOW - the lifted picture looks proportional (like it should have always been that way to begin). This should sell well among the %1 that ever go off road. Mine is looking to join that club this weekend!
