What’s this and how is it secured?

While surveying my engine compartment during a cooling fan shroud replacement, I found this tube just “floating” - is it supposed to be secured somewhere? What is it?

A shop did remove my engine a couple years ago following an accident and I’m still finding little things here and there.. wondering if this part is supposed to
be attached somehow. It’s currently just resting between my coolant reservoir and the a/c lines.

That is your front diff breather. It kind of just hangs out and prevents water from entering the difference, while also allowing fluid expansion
