It shouldn't matter if the wheels are turned or not at to the level of fluid... sounds like you have found your leak.

Replaced the bolt and transmission fluid today and also filled the power steering reserve up. I made the dumbest mistake though. I was working at night and I grabbed this black castrol bottle that I thought was transmission fluid and I started pouring it in and it was brown instead of red and I look at the bottle and it was engine oil! Geez! What else can I possibly mess up! I hopefully fixed that problem. I drained the transmission fluid (again) and replaced it with brand new fluid (again). Only maybe 1/4th of a quart of oil got in there luckily. I test drove it for a minute and it's working fine now. I felt like a ***** though. This is the 2nd time I've had to completely drain out new fluid. The first was because I broke the pan bolt from overtightening (because the washer wasn't on). The more I try to baby my car, the more damage I end up doing! lol

If I were you I wouldn't drive it more than a couple hundred miles and then flush the transmission to get rid of the Oil that you added. Motor oil and transmission fluid do not mix well.

Fluid Leak

If a Landy stops leaking - then worry. It is almost certainly the steering pump hoses. They all do it!!!
