I went through a similar thing. A few notes from my experience.
1. Not all clips are created equal. I couldn’t find any that were not original LR parts that held as tightly.
2. If the trim piece is original then look to make sure that the 2 locating pieces are in place. One at the top and one at the bottom of the trim piece. These should also be gasketed. The other thing is that the rubber sealing strips do get a memory and they help provide some of the tightness of fit and reduce wind noise.
3. Water ingress is a real thing on the A pillars. So make sure the gaskets on the clips are in good condition.
4. If you’re looking at replacing the A pillar trim pieces then have a look at your cowl. It may be past it as well.
