Thanks guys. Yeah the drone is a ton of fun. really easy to fly too.

Which drone do you have? I am thinking about one for next year. (Planning to ask for it for Christmas.) I just began researching them. I do some photography when I travel and I'm thinking that if it has a decent camera I can get some still from different vantage points as well as some video.

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg My daughter and I went through Medano Pass, Co, to try out sand mode. Stock everything. Was nervous that tires needed deflating as recommended on the website because I don't have an air compressor. But, LR4 does't read websites. Sand mode made the sandy part of the trip a breeze. The only challenging aspect of the trip was deciding between hill decent and first/second gear.
Daughter loved the trip as she saw 'a deer's butt'. Kids...

Beautiful pics! Though I must say, nothing in those pics looks like sand. Sand mode and "airing down" are relevant when you are on soft beach sand / desert sand dunes. Glad to hear you had a great trip!

Surfrider77, i agree. I was't thinking of pics at the time of drive in the sand. You are not allowed to drive on the dunes, of course, and the sandy part of the driving trail was not thought provoking of 'wow this is difficult'. I put the LR right into sand mode at the start of the trail and I didn't compare the sand mode to the other modes. Thankfully I live near by and will do that next time.

My friend who worked at the dunes was surprised that i didnt need to deflate my tires. It's hard to judge how good the sand mode is at this point.

I just bought the 2016.5 and in the mountains a lot and so far loving the different modes. The different modes smooth out the bumps and dips I remember riding in Tacomas and Rams trucks.
