    Towing

One of the gotchas on the LR3 towing is the tongue weight capacity. It is listed as 550lb max which is somewhat average. If you add additional weight on the rear axle such as trunk cargo, additional passengers, etc. your must subtract it from the 550lb max. It is a PITA trying to not overload...

Brake squeaking after having them replaced...

If you didn't replace the rotors when you changed the pads and the new pads are not the same as original, they will squeak. Did you measure the thickness of the rotors? If they are acceptable, you may try bedding your brakes and see if it will help...

    LR3 V6 Rear Rotor $35 New Genuine

I have a single brand new LR3 rear rotor, Genuine Land Rover part number SDB000636, taking up garage space. They are at least $70+ on discount stores and more at the dealer. Shipping in US should be about $15-$20 (it is heavy). Email me at [email protected] if interested. Thanks, Jim

    Trailers - For Camping/Expedition/Fun (w/ photos)

I ordered the Jayco 23B that met the tongue weight (410 lbs dry + Propane + Battery) and GVW is only 4950 lbs. We like the floorplan a lot; we had the Coyote 23 CMS but the tongue weight was 600+ lbs dry. We didn't have any issues towing it. I wonder if the max tongue weight capacity is...

Is there any reason to not use synthetic oil?

That's what my dealer told me initially too but on the second oil change I brought my Castrol Syntec 0w-30 with me and asked them to use that instead. I do tow and synthetic to me is a must. No issues with the dealer, the oil meets all the LR specs, including GF-3.

    why replace rotors often

I would change or resurface the rotors (depending on condition and thickness) if: a. I change the brake pad manufacturer from what was before on those rotors. The pads always leave a material film on the rotors and using a different pad material will not provide optimal brake performance and...

    Brake replacement

Don't you have to do something with the air suspension before jacking the car up and remove the wheels?

    LR3 Transmision

Does anyone pull a trailer by any chance with their LR3 that has similar issues? I just pulled a 5500 lb trailer last week and it seems the tranny may not be adapting fast enough back to normal driving. Just trying to see if there is any common patterns in driving that could relate to this.

    LR3 Transmision

Coincidence? My wife was just complaining to me about exactly that issue yesterday. We have a 2006 HSE with 31K mi. In one situation she was in snow/gravel mode and the car would barely move. She pulled over, shut it down and restarted and it was fine. Then last night she was making a left...

    Replace tires and bushings together??

Are the bushings cracked or damaged? Why replace them if they are not broken? I have the ATR's on my 19s and love them. I did have the dealer do the alignment after I put them on. No issues for 3000+ miles.

    Wipers

I used the Valeo from Tirerack, good wipers but still noisy at times. Then I searched on Disco3.co.uk forum and this came up as a good choice for the LR3/Disco3: http://speeding.co.uk/acatalog/Valeo_XTRM__Flat_Wiper_Blades.html#a4561 I ordered them and I'm awaiting delivery...good folks at...
