    Rear side window won't roll up!!

    The rear side window on my 1997 Disco is totally messed up. Suddenly it just makes a churning noise when you press the up button and you can slide the glass up by hand but it slides back down on it's own! I want to try taking the door apart. I'm hoping it's a simple fix. Any advice??

    Anyone know of a good place to buy the mirror glass for the side mirror on a discovery 1? Rovers North is the only place I can think of, but I could find it on their site. The motor works fine, it's just the stupid mail truck broke the glass out of the mirror. :mad:

    How much new oil should you put in a '97 Disco when changing the oil and filter? I thought it was about 7 quarts, but nothing was showing up on the dipstick, so I added another half quart and now it's looking like it went over the full line on the dipstick. It's hard to tell how much is in...

    Synthetic oil

    I just checked my oil and it was dark brown... time for a change for sure. I bought some gtx and a filter and I'm going to replace it today before I go on a trip this weekend. I'm going to start changing the oil a little more frequently... but I don't drive much either.

    I wanna get some of those lamborghini door hinges for my Rover lol... where the doors flip up. It'd look crazy but it'd be too expensive.

    Regular maintenance... what have I forgotten?

    What are some commonly overlooked maintenance things for the Disco 1. I'm approaching 100k miles and I've done a lot of the basics; oil changes, transmission fluid, coolant, shocks, spark plugs... Is there any super important maintenance thing I might have forgotten or not known about for a Rover?

    It's easier to take the whole tail light out first... I couldn't loosen the bulb without doing that.

    wheels from Range to Disco

    I've seen them for $500 but I found this place from google that made land rover adapters and they were only $150! Not bad, but the real pain is the rims and tires... A good set of 20's or 22's can run $3000 or more.

    I personally like rims like that, but n8 does have a point... A Rover on big wheels is pretty useless for 4 wheeling, but if you're like me, you probably don't do a lot of off roading anyways. I wish there were more wheel options for the disco 1 without buying wheel adapters. I don't have money...

    Just had to brag... I pulled the little cork out of my new exhaust today and that thing just purrs like a ferrari. I'm not even joking. I DUSTED a Nissan 350z today (yea the new ones). My Disco is just roarin.

    Panhard rod bushings??? eyeyeye.... I'll put that on my "to do" list right by greasing the hub bearings and changing the brakes.

You guys are my only "land rover" friends, so this is the only place that anyone would appreciate my efforts, but I put in new shocks and a new steering stabilizer this week in my 97 Disco. They're white with red shock boots (to match the burgundy paint). They look sick...

    Alright cool... I should just go the regular route and change oil more often. I was only using synthetic because I thought it was better but the price was causing me to change it less frequently.

    okay so maybe just spinkle some litter on the spot I park? I put some leak stop fluid in today, so I'll see if that helps but from the looks of it... EVERYTHING seems to be leaking something lol. The entire underbody of my discovery has drips.
