if not where can i get the sensor i have looked online for a few days and no dice, found the switch though.

I believe the light sensor is in block behind the rearview mirror. Nothing is plug and play you will have to have it programmed and enabled once you add all the pieces. If you add the sensor behind the mirror (dual purpose for rain sensor) I believe you can replace the wiper stalk with the appropriate part and have rain sensing wipers too!! You'll need a BBS Faultmate to do this though or pay the dealer. I ordered a faultmate my self yesterday so hopefully in a weeks time I'll know all the optional bells and whistles!!

I am not sure I understand your question correctly, but "day time running lights" using the headlights is a software option that can be configured by anyone with the factory's T4 Testbook or IPD (IDP?) software.

I think he is refering to the auto-on headlights that are a part of the "lighting package". Yes this can be add but it will cost you. In order to do so you need the rain/light sensor that mounts behind the rearview mirror. The windshield is also different so you would need to replace that and the light switch just to get the automatic lights. DRL's can be turned on by the IDS (supposedly the t4 can't do it). Colin or bbsspy on the disco3 forum is the guy behind blackbox solutions and has taken to upgrading is base spec d3 with is his test tool. There is even someone that has added the rear difflock to one that didn't originally have one!!! Proof that anything can be done!!
