you can notice it even with the windpws closed. It is a nice raor!!! Like a lion. I love it!

you won't hear it all the time. only occasionally it kicks in. I notice it some mornings depending on the conditions which allow the fan to "kick in". Beautiful note to it! kind of intimidating if you don't know what is going on.
