Hey Ya'll,

Getting some new wheels, replacing my 19" with 18"'s. I've heard you can't fit a fully inflated 285 65 18 in the spare tire compartment under the back of the vehicle. Truth to that? How about a 265? Or better yet, does anyone know a source for a rear spare tire carrier? Seems like better place for the spare and getting a bit more off road clearance in the back.

By the way, there will be 5 19" oem 7 spoke wheels and good tires up for sale soon. If anyone's interested pm me.

I am interested. What style? A pic or two?
manoftast, They are the standard OEM seven spoke with the split in the spoke. I'll shoot a pick of them tomorrow for you. mounted with Cooper Zeon's and have studless Toyo's with only a few thousand miles on them.

Where are you located? If you're just as moved by price as by specific model, I have a set of 4 new lr3 19's with new tires in Raleigh NC area.

Mine are this style. Have 5 of them all in perfect condition with Cooper Zeon LTZ and 4 Toyo Snows. I'm in Colorado and will post in the classifieds once I've got my new rims on.

Mine are this style.

I had that style on my last LR4 and kind of miss them. I should have had them swapped over when I got my new (to me) LR4, but like a dummy I only had them bring over the full size spare I had. Now I have a spare mounted on this style rim and 4 different ones. It's the little things that bug you...

My only gripe with this style rim is that it was a pain to clean the dust brake out of those slots! But it was worth it.

G'day from Australia. Kaymar in Melbourne Australia make the world's best rear wheel carrier - no question!! They sell them Globally. Google the factory in Lilydale Victoria. They cost around AUD$2300-
with swing-away mount for one wheel, but can be ordered with two wheel mounts, or a jerry can mount on LHS. With two wheels mounted your rear camera is useless. Kaymar supply replacement sensors for the rear parking assist
The bar that the carrier is mounted on is steel & replaces the plastic OME bumper. It has full lights fitted
to make it totally legal re tail/brake lights etc.
I'm about to have one fitted to my 2014 Disco 4 so I can install a 100 litre aux fuel tank - a Brown-Davis unit - brilliant!!. The tank fills the space vacated by the spare.
I'm also buying the Compomotive 18" wheels so I can fit BFG AT KO2's, plus the Prospeed rock rails with inserts and a compressor protection plate.
Australia has always been virtually all diesel for D3'S & D4's due to the small capacity fuel tank & our vast distances we cover. The petrol (gas) engines are much too thirsty for most Aussies, unless they only use their vehicles for school runs. We need much longer range. No gas stations in the real Outback!
My 2014 D4 replaces a 1995 300TDi Disco which I had for nearly 20 years. I loved it & was determined to replace it with another "real" Disco before the horrific D5 became the only option. I really hope that Land Rover design & build a "serious" Defender replacement. I really cannot imagine a D5 crossing our Simpson Desert with all the massive sand dunes. Even though it is certainly capable of doing so it just doesn't look "right". Can't see one with a bullbar, snorkel & rear wheel carrier fitted. They don't make those parts yet anyway.
All the major Aussie aftermarket accessories manufacturers produce very tough gear. ARB, Ironman, Opposite Lock, Kaymar & Brown Davis are all highly recommended & I believe all have U.S. outlets.

Kaymar no sources in USA anymore, doubt Brown Davis either.

Kaymar: I’ve been wanting a replacement Jerry can swing left or at least bearings specifications but nobody replied to my emails.

Would you consider selling just one? I am looking to buy a spare. I'll be in CO in July.
