Hi y'all. Just bought this vehicle, mechanically and cosmetically it is in great condition. However I have an electrical problem somewhere.

My horn, power sunroof, cigarette lighter and other 12v plug ins are not working. I checked all fuses and they are good.

I tested the Battery Junction box for power from the wire and I have power there.

However when I test the individual connectors where the relay and fuses plug in, I have absolutely no resistence there.

Is there a way to test the Battery Junction Box other than what I have already done? Is there a way to test the Central Junction Box without having to remove the glove compartment?

Am I even looking in the right direction?

Any help would greatly be appreciated!!

My floorboard is wet, on passenger side only...............

I obviously have a leak, I'm assuming it is from the sunroof at the elbow where it turns to go out the vehicle. The reason I think this is because my pillars or headliner is not wet, so I don't believe it's leaking from up there, there is no sign of wetness anywhere except the passenger side floorboard. So if it is at the elbow, it may be leaking on the CJB, thus causing all the electrical problems I am having and finding no blown fuses. If it's leaking on the CJB from the back side what is my worst case scenario? I'm not sure how long this leak has been happening as I just bought it, if water is soaking the back side of the CJB, can it then damage the connectors? What course of action should I take here?

I can not do the water test or even blow air into the hole to see if just clogged at the top as my sunroof is stuck in the closed position, as if no power is getting to it. The electrical connector going to sunroof motor is a 4 pin connector, anybody know what pins I should put a jumper wire to open? All the info I can find is that it should be a 6 pin............... Maybe mine has been changed out at some point. Should I run power from the battery straight to the sunroof motor, would that be the pin that the red wire goes to?

it's obvious, I have to get the leak fixed first, if the leak is indeed at the elbow behind the CJB, and having to pull the CJB out in order to get to it, is it likely that if I clean the contacts on the board with some electric parts cleaner that it may fix some of my electronic issues if not all....................

positive battery wire coming into passenger compartment
ok below you will see a pic of a positive battery wire coming into the passenger floor board from the passenger firewall near the center of the vehicle, it runs toward the door, but has been cut and no signs of the other piece of wire............... any ideas here. It was laying in a puddle of water that was underneath the carpet. I have used my shop vac to suck it up and have the carpet still pulled back with a fan drying to blow it dry.

ok, so before I posted this, I went back out and decided to trace this wire. It comes up through the firewall and attaches to a TSPEC Fuse holder which then runs to the positive battery terminal. I am assuming this was to run an amp or something that may have been in the back of the vehicle. I have pulled it completely out and detached it from the battery terminal.

My ****** in the fender is still sticking out of the hole, so at least it didn't slip back and I would have been fishing to pull it out. It appears to be in good shape, so I am going to find the bad part, cut it out and splice it back together.

There are a billion wires under the passenger door kick plate. Looks very intimidating. How in the heck to you go about checking all these wires?

Well you are on the right track. Get the leak sorted. Not only the sunroof drains but check the A-pillar trim and the windshield cowling. Then go through the wiring.

Did you try the hard reset on your sunroof to get it open? I've had 2 to it twice in a year to get it open..

Test your battery first. The Land Rover Discovery 3 and 4 needs a fully charged battery other wise it sets off loads of warning lights. As for your sun roof, and 12 volt socket my car had similar problems when I brought mine 18 months ago. Found out that my Sunroof drains were blocked which sent water into my sunroof module which is situated just at back of sunroof. It also put loads of water into the drivers footwell shorting out loads of the 12 volt items. Your horn fuse is on the passenger fuse box and is 15A fuse.Your Cigar lighter Fuse 55 is also 15 amp And again is on the Passenger fuse box. Your electric sunroof fuse, fuse 20 again 15 amp is also on the Passenger fuse box. If I was you check the passenger fuse box first. The passenger fuse box can get water ingress. due to the front left sunroof drain being blocked off.

Also all the wires under the passenger kick plate is for things like your power to electric windows, Door Locking, and the power to the rear of your car. All your wires for the main amp under the driver seat, power to the fridge, phone, TV and other items like this are usually fed through the centre console. I’ve just read about the water so near guarantee water ingress is your problem. You need to get 2x front sunroof drain pipes and 2x rear sunroof drain pipes to cure your problem.

I have a 2006 LR3 HSE. when it rains hard or sometimes when I go thru the car wash I get the same leak. It caused my interior lights to blink
today until it dried. The leak drains down the passenger side windshield post and down to the floor board on the passenger side only. I don't believe mine is from the sunroof.
Does anyone else have this problem and or a possible solution?
