Are you worried about the bikes hitting the road, on dips?

I've also not had issues hitting. The bikes are quite high and it doesn't stick out nearly as far as a 4 bike tray. I can't imagine ocoming close to hitting on a paved public road and most dirt roads should be fine too. Also the setup is configurable so if you needed you could raise the rack substantially.
