I have a 1996 Discovery 1 that will not start. I charged the battery and it initially would turn over but not start. Now, when I turn the key, all of the instrument lights and features turn on but it will not even turn over now.

Any suggestions on where to start?

Sounds like battery may be dead. On the 96 it also had the spider alarm system if I recall correctly, which suck. Make sure you use the remote to unlock the door if possible otherwise lock and unlock the door with the key at least 3 times slowly to ensure the alarm is not set.

Do you hear the fuel pump running?

Have you tried to start with some starting fluid?

Thank you for the info Joey. I will try your suggestions regarding the alarm system as well as listening for the fuel pump running and using started fluid.
