Pay particular attention to the right front floorboard and see if you have wet carpet. Might have to pull up the scuff plate inside that door to check the bundle of wiring harness running down that channel.

Moon roof (sunroof) drain tube ******* are notorious for pulling off inside that vent on the outside fender, letting water draining from the moon roof drain to the inside of the car, right down past the glove box along that right kick panel - where the Body Control Module resides.

I am having problems with the KeyLess system as the vehicle cannot identify the key and I am obligated to start it by placing the FOB under the wheel. Therefore, I will be grateful to know its part number as well. In addition, I have not been able to identify the location of the keyless module. If I'm understanding correctly what you're looking for, the keyless module is located under the steering column just behind the steering wheel.

To see it, remove the top plastic dust cover shroud from the steering column, and you should be able to see on the lower right hand side (under the column, stuck to the lower plastic shroud cover) a small black module with a white label that contains various keyless system information printed on it. This mostly allows you to see the module.

To properly access the module though, you'll need to remove the lower plastic steering shroud by taking out the 3 Torx screws that hold it in place. The lower shroud won't come off completely, but will "hang down" allowing easier access to the module.

Hopefully, this is what you are referring to and finding it is helpful to your troubleshooting.

I will check for that when I get my car back. I specifically asked about a water intrusion issue when I spoke to the shop because the two times it happened, it was raining a bit. They said it was not water intrusion and that the module had just corroded due to age (it's a 2016!) so I'm not sure that that isn't what is going on.

Age? hmmm. without water there shouldn't be any corrosion.

I will pass along the part number when I get it for sure. I got locked out of the car the first time as well and it was super annoying. They had to call a second tow truck because they couldn't get it into neutral- they said the override wouldn't work either. Mine said "Smart Key Not Found" with the key next to it.

Just a heads up, you can't tow any LR4 in neutral for any significant speed/distance. Has to be towed away on a flatbed.

Here's the warning from the manual:

Tow the vehicle only in a forward direction with four wheels on the ground. Towing in a reverse direction with two wheels on the ground will result in serious damage to the transmission.

The vehicle should only be towed for a maximum of 50 km (30 miles) at a maximum speed of 50 km/h (30 mph). Towing for a greater distance or at a higher speed may result in serious damage to the transmission.

Do not tow the vehicle if the gearbox cannot be set in neutral or the rear electronic differential has failed in the locked position.

Yea, They were trying to put it on a flatbed, but had to get it in neutral to put it on. They ended up lifting it onto the flatbed.

I have mixed emotions when driving my LRs in the rain. Part of me is happy that I'm in a very safe vehicle, with great visibility and handling, while the other half of me is wondering what electronics won't work tomorrow. Ironic they can drive in 3 feet of water without a care (thank you LR!) and yet a little rain is a real worry. Those sun/moon roof drain pipes are a nightmare!
