slam the hood down as hard as you can but MAKE SURE you let go halfway and not press your hands or elbow into the hood. My LR4 hood doesn't latch on the driver side and it lifts when driving over 70mph. I just slam it down...it doesn't break anything. The reason why i say to let go of it before it latches is because i slammed it down with my elbow and put a huge elbow crease in the hood. The sheet metal is kind of soft. I had to pay a paint-less dent removal guy $200 to get rid of the crease. In regards to a fix I'd say a new latch? I don't really mind slamming the hood though lol it helps with the costs associated with whatever I'm under that hood for

Hoods are aluminum. That is why haha. I had a similar issue, driving and it looked like half the hood unlatched. No damage and I relatched it. Hasn't had any issues since. 93k miles.

This is why I lose my mind whenever I see a photo of someone sitting on the hood of a car.

This worked with my 2011 model. Unfortunately, not with the 2016, no amount of slaming works. it's only happening since the car got back from service. I imagine they only half closed it and the drive back lifted and deformed the hood :(

Not so fast. Screw this guy all the way in and try closing the hood (there’s one on each side) There’s about 1” of adjustment in the hood stop to eliminate chatter when driving.

If it closes properly then screw the stop out until it just is at the point of not latching then screw the stop back 1/4 turn.

If this doesn’t work then look closer at the latches themselves, they may be sticking open as mentioned above.

Back in 2005 when the LR3 was new, LR boasted that the hood was the largest single aluminum pressing on any production vehicle anywhere.

Land Rover is the test mule producer for the majors, Ford in particular. The 3 and 4 gave Ford the confidence to put aluminum pressings into their pickups.
