Hi, all,

So I took apart the driver’s door to replace the cable that connects the emergency lock to the rest of the mechanism. Got everything back together, I think. At least it all seems to work as intended, except…

Except the puddle light. On only that specific door. Bulb is good, I checked. The only thing I can think of is that there is one connector that I wasn’t able to find a mate for, shown in the attachment. The connector is near the tweeter on the very top of the door, and the photo is taken from above looking down basically from where that tweeter ought to be.

But since I couldn’t find anything to attach to that connector in the harness, I assumed it was a diagnostic port or otherwise unused, although it doesn’t seem like LR to not cap it off.

So…any advice on where that connector goes? Or on what might have caused the puddle light to fail only on that door?

OK, NVM about the puddle light. Apparently the control module that works on that wants to see a bulb plugged into that connector before the main battery is reconnected, or else it just decides not to shunt power in that direction.

But my question about that connector still stands: what’s it for?

The connector goes to the mirror assembly.
For vehicles that have different options in the mirror, like wade sensing.
